Toby Frevert

Toby Frevert is the Coordinator of Military-Affiliated Supports & Services at Towson University's Military & Veterans Center in Towson, MD. Since joining the MVC community, Toby has helped Towson University achieve the Military Friendly Gold Status, as well as helped make Towson University a Top 5 Institution in the Northern Region for Veterans and the No. 2 College in Maryland, according to U.S. News and World Report.

 

Prior to coming to TU, Toby worked for the Boy Scouts of America, and was involved in politics. Toby holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Studies and French from University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and is now working toward a Master of Science in Human Resources Development with a focus on Organizational Leadership and Management at Towson University.

In addition to his role as Towson's Primary SCO, Toby is a member of the Baltimore County's Commission on Veterans Affairs's Coalition on Veteran Suicide Prevention, a Commissioner on the Maryland College Collaboration for Student Veterans Commission (MCCSVC), and is a certified Mental Health First Aid instructor. Toby enjoys advocating for policies focused on providing increased support for military-affiliated students, and is currently working with members of Maryland's Legislative Body to increase accessibility to state educational programs.

Toby hopes to use his education and experience to become a leading expert in Higher Education Leadership for military-affiliated student, and plans to conduct ongoing research and advocacy for School Certifying Officials and other Higher Education professionals who work directly with the VA.

​

In his free time, Toby officiates weddings, enjoys live music, writes plays and short stories, and visits the Catskill Mountains in New York. Toby is an avid fan of Towson University sports, the Baltimore Orioles, Washington Commanders, and Ohio State Buckeyes Football. Toby hopes to own a small army of Bernese Mountain Dogs one day.
