Sheri grew up on the South Side of Chicago and earned both her BA in Psychology and MSEd in Counseling from Northern Illinois University. A military spouse herself, she has spent nearly 20 years working with veterans, service members, and military families.
Her career has spanned both higher education and mental health, including work with veterans and military spouses in inpatient and outpatient settings. Throughout her career, Sheri has remained committed to advocating for the military-connected community, improving access to support and resources, and breaking down barriers and stigma surrounding mental health.
Sheri currently serves as the Director of Veterans Services at College of DuPage, where she leads efforts to support veteran and military-connected students through education benefits, advocacy, programming, campus partnerships, and student support. She is also actively involved in the broader veteran education community and values the opportunity to connect and collaborate with colleagues working to better serve military-connected students nationwide.
Sheri lives in Chicago with her family and spends much of her free time reading and shuttling her three kids to their various activities.
