Toby Frevert is the Veterans Support Specialist at Towson University's Military & Veterans Center in Towson, MD. He took on the role in February 2022.
Prior to coming to TU, Toby was raised in Washington County, MD, just a mile from the Antietam Battlefield. Toby moved to the Baltimore region in 2014, where he attended University of Maryland, Baltimore County. At UMBC, he received a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Studies and French in 2018, and is now in school, working toward a Master of Arts in Professional Studies at Towson University.
After completing his undergraduate studies, Toby worked for the Boy Scouts of America and Baltimore City campaigns.
Toby has enjoyed working with TU's veterans and is planning to make veteran services in higher ed a career. He regularly participates in trainings and certifications to become the best advocate for the military-affiliated community he can be. Toby is Mental Health First Aid Certified, is a CliftonStrengths Leadership Facilitator, is trained in Academic Advising, and is a member of the 2022-2023 President's Inclusive Leadership Institute, a program designed to train and develop staff into strong and inclusive leaders. Toby has a reputation of being a bulldog for TU's military-affiliated community.
In his free time, Toby enjoys hiking the Adirondack Mountains in New York, visiting new restaurants, and travelling out of the way to see his favorite bands. Toby is a huge fan of the Baltimore Orioles and the Washington Commanders. He is good at cooking and below average at golfing.
